Sun coach Mike Thibault said he will sit Lindsay Whalen for Saturday's regular-season finale against Washington. It will be the second straight game he chose to rest her right sprained ankle with the playoffs approaching. Whalen tried playing through it, but after the Sun's loss in Houston on Tuesday made their hopes for homecourt advantage bleak, Thibault decided it was best to give his MVP-caliber point guard the necessary time to heal.
As for the postseason, here's the schedule for the Sun's first-round, best-of-three series with the No. 3 seed New York Liberty.
Thursday, Sept. 18, 7 p.m.: Connecticut at New York
Saturday, Sept. 20, 7 p.m.: New York at Connecticut
Monday, Sept. 22, 7 p.m.: New York at Connecticut (if necessary)
Sun playoff tickets are currently on sale.

I think it is the right decision to rest Whalen. She is the most valuable player on the team, and when she is not at 100% it makes the game harder for everybody on the floor. I hope they can get things turned around before the playoffs, and luckily they have a little time to figure some things out. Maybe the minutes Erin is getting during Whalen's absence will pay off come playoff time.
