Tamika Whitmore and Lindsay Whalen each scored 19 points and the Sun improved to 5-1 with a 75-73 win over the Chicago Sky at the UIC Pavilion Sunday. Amber Holt added 11 points, and Connecticut withstood a late Chicago 3-pointer to hold on.
Jia Perkins led the Sky (1-3) with 21 points, and Sylvia Fowles (17 points, 12 rebounds) and Candice Dupree (14 points, 11 rebounds) each recorded double-doubles. The Sun hit 9 3-pointers to overcome a 43-34 deficit on the boards.
